As I have mentioned before, right now I am in a Digital Design Foundation class at Anne Arundel Community College and one of the requirements is to use a blog to talk about art.
I have been a user of Adobe's products for years, specifically Photoshop and InDesign, through school and work but recently the class was assigned a project where we were to hand draw an object and then convert that drawing to an Illustrator digital image. I have familiarity with Illustrator due to my last job but I have to tell you I was pretty terrified of the program heading into it because I had only used it previously to open .ai files and convert them to something I could use and manipulate in Photoshop.
After fighting with the program for a few minutes, here is what I was able to accomplish. And I have to say I think these images actually came out alright. First my hand drawings (which are the first since the art classes I took in high school over 10 years ago).
Yeah, straight lines weren't really my strong point the afternoon I drew these. Thankfully, Illustrator allowed me to clean these up.
Ok, probably not the best or most interesting drawings of a wrench you have ever seen but I do think these do the trick.
